The newer vaccine (JYNNEOS), which we think doesnвЂ™t pose those risks, is in short supply. But there are problems with that vaccine in terms of potentially causing inflammation of the heart. On the other hand, there are other diseases that can produce skin rashes and lesions. The lesions on the skin, whether in the genital area or elsewhere, are the most important indication. The CDC says monkeypox can be spread from the time symptoms start until the rash has fully healed and a fresh layer of skin has formed. Those who are pregnant can spread the virus to their fetus through the placenta. Touching items such as clothing or linens that were previously in contact with an infectious rash or body fluids can spread the disease. Researchers donвЂ™t believe the virus is spread to any great extent through the air, but the CDC notes that it can be spread through respiratory secretions during prolonged, face-to-face contact or during intimate physical contact. It might also include non-sexual contact. Earlier data from San Francisco found that Latinos made up 30 percent of monkeypox cases within the city, even though only 15 percent of the cityвЂ™s population is Latino.ДЄ: Through physical contact with the infectious rash, scabs or bodily fluids, including through sexual contact. Data provided on Jby Alameda County showed that Latinos made up 54% of cases, even though they represented less than a fourth of the countyвЂ™s population. Some early data also suggests that certain racial groups are being disproportionately affected by the virus.
